History of Château de Montcornet in the Ardennes
Montcornet castle in the Ardennes stands on a rocky spur 160 metres long.
This spur backs onto the Ardennes massif to the north and points south towards the Sormonne valley. The sides of the spur are very steep, isolating the castle from the ridges to the east and west.
