The Sud Champagne technology cluster

The Sud Champagne technology cluster, located in Nogent in Haute-Marne, was built in three phases (2007, 2011 and 2015). An innovation site in the field of metallic materials, it is a successful example of a cluster in a rural environment. It is also a beautiful story, because its location owes nothing to chance. The Haute-Marne is a department historically linked to metallurgy. In the 18th and 19th centuries, its forges had their moment of glory during the industrial revolution, particularly in the field of cutlery. At the beginning of the 20th century, bold men and women took advantage of this know-how to develop new sectors. Today, while the industrialists have managed to pool their experience, Nogentech has laid the foundations of a European cluster, a melting pot of collaboration between companies, research with the UTT and the CRIT Mdts, university training with the UTT and the technology cluster's business incubator. This virtuous ecosystem is establishing itself as an international reference in the field of metals, particularly in the medical device, automotive and aeronautics sectors.
